Taroudant: Dar Zahia (2)

Another post on Dar Zahia in Taroudant, Morocco. Dar Zahia is impressive not only because the decor is authentic yet functional and comfortable, but because there is an overall feeling of peace, silence and well being. The chirping of birds is often the only sound you hear.

Everywhere there are little nooks to read, sleep or chat with a cool drink in hand.

The antique clay jugs, found locally complement the lanterns designed by the owner and made by local artisans.

Another resting nook. The modern white tiles behind the cushions were sculpted by a British artist, Stephenie Bergman(http://stepheniebergman.com).

Beautiful view of the snow-capped Atlas mountains beyond the roof tops.
